"A generall mappe of Scandinavia, where are the estates and kingdomes of Danemark, Norway and Sweden… 1669" by Richard Blome Undated Reprint / Replica ca. 19th or 18th Century print 121 of 1,050 Map originally appeared in an atlas published by Nicolas Sanson in 1670 titled "A geographical description of the four parts of the world." However, this map is not an original 1669 print. The paper that the map is printed on does have faint, tiny horizontal wire lines (indicating that it was not made in the same way that modern paper is made), but the map does not have matching vertical "chain lines." Had this been printed on 1669 paper, chain lines would be present. In pencil, on the obverse of the map, "121/1050" is written, indicating that it is the 121st print in an undated run of 1,050. |
